May is Better Hearing and Speech Month. This month is dedicated to sharing information to help spread awareness about communication disorders. Throughout this month Gemiini will be highlighting information to help inform about communication disorders and the professionals that treat those disorders.  

Ways that a child plays during their life evolve from passive exposure and sensory exploration to the functional use of toys and interactive play. A young child with special needs will benefit from repeated exposures, explanations, demonstrations, as well as supported use of items to participate in play.

An occupational therapist helps all children live their lives to the fullest at all stages of their development.

Book reading with your learner can be a wonderful way for adults to support literacy and speech/language skills!
