Weekly Content Update | More Verbs!
This Week at Gemiini
This week our film team has uploaded a new set of verbs to the site. This batch of clips includes live action generalizations for words like swim, skate, sing, pet, hold, bite, drum, frown, and many other early action words!
Labeling basic actions is taught in the assignments from Level 4 of Gemiini's Language Pyramid. We recommend using these new clips in custom assignments with children working in Level 4 of the Language Pyramid or higher. Clips that teach basic action words are located in Spoken Language | Action Words (Verbs) | ING Form W/Out Tense.
Generalizing the verbs from your student's assignments is easy. While you're out and about with your child, point to actions occurring in the environment and ask your child questions like, "What is he doing?" "What is she doing?" "What am I doing?" "What are you doing?" etc. Your child should respond by stating the appropriate action.
You can also print the flashcards for assignments that teach verbs and have and your label the shown on each card. Flashcards can be printed from the Assignments page of your student's account.
