Sing along with our new High Interest QuickStarts to teach verbs and imitation!
Gemiini's High Interest videos were designed to make our style of video modeling more engaging for individuals who don't like watching Gemiini. These videos blend our style of midshot, closeup, and generalization clips with stories and songs to make viewing time fun. This gentle introduction to our format helps students get used to watching Gemiini.
This week we're excited to announce the addition of four new High Interest QuickStarts:
High Interest | Happy and You Know It
High Interest | Ring Around the Rosie
High Interest | Row, Row, Row Your Boat (Stretch, Kick, Nod, Raise Hands)
High Interest | Row, Row, Row Your Boat (Tap, Hop, Point, Tickle, Walk)
In these videos, our actors sing along to the tune of popular children's songs and model actions to demonstrate the meaning of basic verbs. After each verse, a clip from our library in the traditional Gemiini format plays to model articulation and generalize the meaning of each word.
These new videos are well-suited for students working in Level 4 of the Language Pyramid. They are also a great supplement for students practicing imitation skills. Encourage participatation by singing along with the video and copying the actions on the screen. Prompt students to follow along, and give lots of praise when they participate or demonstrate the desired outcome!
All of our High Interest videos are located in the QuickStart library. To assign these QuickStarts to students connected with your managing account:
- Log in to your managing account.
- Select QuickStart Videos.
- Select Language Pyramid Videos.
- Select High Interest Videos.
- Scroll to locate the video you would like to assign.
- Select Assign & Play.
Each of these videos has also been uploaded to the full clip library in its entirety, and in smaller pieces that teach each word. We encourage you to use these clips in your custom assignments.
To use High Interest clips, navigate to the full clip library. Use the categories sidebar to select Humor & Motivational → High Interest Stories → High Interest for Haters.
